What times do I pick up and return the van?
A: Pick up is from 9am on the day of hire and return is by 4pm on the last day – all times by appointment. Times can be negotiated upon request.
Is a bond payable on the caravan?
A: The bond payable is $1,500 , accepted by credit/debit card payment on the day you pick up the caravan and is refundable within 7 days of return of the caravan subject to adherence to the terms and conditions of hire. Returning the caravan in a clean and undamaged condition is also a requirement..
Is Insurance included in the cost of hire?
A: Full comprehensive Australia Wide insurance is included in the cost of hire – pending adherence to safe driving and terms and conditions of hire. The Hirer is liable for up to first $1500 of damage unless there is another person or party at fault and it can be recuperated as per terms and conditions of hire contract. All accidents must be reported to Dubbo Caravan Hire or our insurer ASAP.
Do I need electric brakes vehicle to tow your caravans and campers?
A: Yes, under Australian Road Laws any caravan or trailer with electric brakes fitted must have electric brake controller on the tow vehicle. It is preferable you have your own electric brakes. Swan Camper Trailer also has mechanical over-ride brakes.
How do I know what my vehicle can tow?
A: The minimum tow vehicle capacity and tow ball weight is listed under the specifications for each caravan or camper. Dubbo Caravan Hire is also happy to help answer questions.
The tow capacity of your vehicle may be listed on
• your tow bar, or
• on a sticker on the inside of your driver’s side pillar or side door
• in your vehicle owner’s manual.
How far ahead should I plan to book ?
A: We recommend that you book early –ASAP for Christmas, Easter and School Holidays and to avoid disappointment. A $500 deposit secures your booking.
Do you allow pets in your caravans?
A: Only by negotiation – caravans must be returned clean and free from damage, animal hair, smells, campfire smoke etc or cleaning fees will be applied @$55 per hour. There are few caravan parks that allow animals and pets are not permitted in National parks.
Is there a limit to how many km’s I can travel?
A: There are unlimited kms ; our hire caravans can travel Australia wide as long as they are returned on the appointed day.
Can I take the caravan or camper off road?
A: All caravans and campers are for ON-ROAD use only , smooth well maintained dirt roads are acceptable ie.- access properties, campgrounds and National Parks Under no circumstances are corrugated roads or 4WD tracks permitted. Use a common sense approach and obey road signage at all times.
Can you deliver and pick up the caravan for me?
A: We can deliver anywhere in NSW. Prices available on application – case by case basis.
Do I need a powered site or can I camp unpowered ?
A: Many of our caravans and campers have solar panels and deep cycle batteries so you can camp unpowered in most situations – though air conditioning and microwave will not operate. The TV & DVD (12V) , fridge , stove, hot water system can run using 12V and gas systems as necessary for a few days.
